İmamlar, üniversitedeki radikalleşmeyi durdurmaya çalışacak.
Sri Lanka terör saldırısını düzenleyen terörist ile diğer iki teröristle aynı Melbourne üniversitesinde okuması üzerine Victoria’nın İslami liderleri üniversitelere ılımlı vaizler gönderiyor.
Sri Lankalı intihar bombacısı Abdul Lathief Jameel Mohamed, Swinburne Üniversitesi’ne kaydolduğu sıralarda 2016 Noel Günü terör saldırısı içerisinde yakalanan kişide aynı üniversitede bulunmaktaydı.
Birkaç yıl sonra da Swinburne’de okuyan ve ismi açıklanmayan bir öğrencide terör eylemi hazırlık suçlamasıyla göz altına alındı.
Bağlantılar, kampüsün teröristlerin yetiştiği alan korkusu oluşturdu.
Victoria İmamlar Kurulu, yeni planının üniversite kampüslerinde öğrencileri radikalleşmeden uzak tutacağını umuyor.
Sekreter yardımcısı Alaa el Zokm, “Kampüsler, bazıları için nefretlerini sergileyeceği yerler olabilir… Özellikle, Avustralya Müslümanlarının diğer Avustralyalılarla olan olumlu ilişkilerine aşina olmayan bazı uluslararası öğrenciler arasında, ” dedi.

Greg Barton, ‘denizaşırı saldırılar için parlak beyinler lazım’
Terörle mücadele uzmanı Deakin Üniversitesi profesörü Greg Barton, orta sınıf üniversite öğrencilerinin hedeflenmesi terör örgütleri için klasik bir hareket olduğunu söyledi.
“Üniversite öğrencilerini işe almak mantıklı gelebilir. Yaptıklarını bilirler. Yelek giyip sokaklarda kamyon sürmek için birçok kişi bulabilirsiniz. Ama, denizaşırı saldırıları düzenlemek için parlak beyinlere ihtiyacın vardır. ”
